Description
This record Sun 211 by Malcolm was issued immediately after a certain E. Presley had a release on Sun 210. Although Malcolm's is a great cut - guess who got the most promotion from Sam Phillips.
The record was purchased by me in Tom Phillip's Select-o-Hits shop in Memphis in 1967.
For many years I had the one and only royalty cheque that Malcolm ever received from Sam. It was for a total of 37.43 dollars and was cashed on the day he got it.
More than 15 years ago I heard that Malcolm wasn't too well and I arranged for him to get his one and only Sun royalty cheque back.
He was very pleased to receive it and although he died a few months later I know it was the right thing for me to do.
So the buyer of this historic record will also get a copy of the royalty cheque that was signed by Marion MacInnes ( the lady at Sun who first spoke to Elvis). I will also include my correspondence re sending the cheque.
Both would look good in a frame.
They should really be in a museum in Memphis.
Enjoy bidding for this little bit of Memphis and Sun Records history. The record can be sent by courier to anywhere in the World
.
The auction starts at just £1. Have fun and keep rockin'
