THE MALIBU’S-45-“Cry (Over Her)” b/w “Leave Me Alone”-Planet Records #58-TOP 5-5 Star KILLER 1966 Providence, Rhode Island 2-SIDED GARAGE–PUNK-then again, most of you are probably familiar with this Fantastic record through the Back From The Grave series. This is the more PUNKED OUT version (compared to the one issued on Malibu Records)-Both sides are great-A side ROCKS with all the ‘elements of greatness’: Gutteral lead vocal, off-key back-up vocals, Fuzz guitar, Vox Continental organ lurking in the mix, sloppy drums, primitive lead guitar break...GREAT SONG...Flip is equally great: borrows heavily from the Zombies “Leave Me Be” in a sense, only this is less Zombies and more Garage if you know what I mean...not as mean as the A side, but a great track nonetheless...KILLERKOOL ALL THE WAY!!!!!! Condition: Record is hard to grade-looks VG++++ or better; upon first glance it looks almost like MINT-minus; some slight paper scuffs visible only in certain light angles, and a VERY slight warp which you can not see unless you REALLY look-almost can not see really.....really beautiful condition....
