MAM-WAW self titled LP (spelled MAMWAW on the label)
THIS is an AMAZING fusion of Caribbean flavored FUNK and SOUL,  consisting primarily of two light-skinned brothers making amazing music together.  There is very little information out there about this band,  so we don't know their real names (other than the writing credits of Wallace and McConnie) We don't know if any extra musicians are on board,  but the primary instrumentation is Organ (including foot-pedal bass-lines), Guitar, and drums.  One way to describe the music is that it sounds like a mutated cross of The Meters, Lee Michaels (without the vocals) and Booker T. and the MG's,  spending a wild weekend having fun and getting high in a studio in  Trinidad during Carnival season. It's that good, and very RAW and very FUNKY.
There are beats and riffs galore for you sample-minded producer types,  and many of the tracks are danceable.
The Vinyl is VISUALLY Graded: it looks VG+. We spot-checked the record for sound quality  (after listening to most portions of the tracks for enjoyments' sake of course) : The sound is crisp and loud though there is some unobtrusive surface noise audible on some quiet sections or intros.  This is not a problem overall, just a bit of noise in a few portions.  Jacket is VG: a crude, gaudily colored primitive / psychedelic design with writing and stickers  (old original prices) and there is ring-wear, edge-wear, corner wear,  but the seams and spine are all intact.
Many covers on this gem: John Lennon's IMAGINE, IF by Bread, the immortal ONE NOTE SAMBA, and SUMMER SAMBA, the Beatles' LONG AND WINDING ROAD, and the first track is the band's original TOO STONED TO KNOW. Don't sleep on this monsterpiece that never turns up ANYWHERE!
