Description
Artist: MAMIE WEBSTER a.k.a. Big Maybelle
Title: W. C. HANDY – “The Blues” as sung by MAMIE WEBSTER
Label: CUB. Monaural pressing on medium weight vinyl. Label is red with black text, with deep groove. Catalog number is CUB 8002.
Year: 1959.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl retains 100% of original gloss, has been played a small number of times and handled with care. Grades nice VG+ to VG++ with a couple minor hairline scuffs, plays closer to VG++. There are a few soft ticks, but no serious marks or problems and the listening experience is very enjoyable. Fidelity is superb. Labels are clean. Recommended.
JACKET: Jacket is nice VG+ to VG++. Front artwork is clean and bright, except for a small white ripped area at the top center where it appears that a sticker was removed. Someone with artistic skill could probably colourize this area so that it would be less noticeable, but I did not attempt. Nice seams and spine and corners. Reverse has minor darkening around the edges; otherwise is clean with no writing or stickers. Overall a very nice jacket to accompany this rare gem by the legendary Big Maybelle.
