Manfred Mann was very popular in the USA in the 1960s and again in the 1970s (and a personal favorite wich is why I sent to the UK for the LP in 1970). Between Manfred Mann and Manfred Mann’s Earth Band there was a band called Manfred Mann Chapter Three that released 2 LPs. However, the second LP was never released in the USA.
This is that LP. It was reissued in the UK in the early 2000s on CD (remastered and remixed, so completely different sound), so if you want to listen to the band as Manfred Mann and Mike Hugg wanted you to hear it, this is your chance. I guarantee you this LP is a knockout. The reason this LP was not released in the US has nothing to do with the music. It was because the first Chapter Three LP didn’t sell in the US and they pressed over a hundred thousand copies expecting the same success the band had before. When it didn’t happen, they dropped them, only to have the band have worldwide success a couple of years later. Serves the record industry right that they are a dinosaur now - treating bands like MM so shabbily. This band ruled!!!
