Description
A rare and possibly unique opportunity to bid for an authentic original white label pre-production pressing of the 'The Battered Ornaments' album Mantle-Piece produced by EMI on the Harvest label in 1969. The two sides of the album are on two separate vinyl discs (12in), each of which has one blank side and one with the tracks. The centres of the discs have blank white labels which gives the name to these items. There is no writing on the white labels except for a 'STEREO' stamp.
Only a very limited number of these pressings would be produced, many of which would be destroyed, which means they are extremely rare. These two vinyls carry the matrix codings SHVL758A-2 and SHVL758B-2.
The discs come in their original factory white inner sleeves dated 4 Oct 1969 within a very good clean original gatefold album cover. I have had them in my possession for nearly 40 years during which time they have been played only a small number of times and therefore they are in near mint condition.
