Description
MARCONI VELVET TONE - 78 Record- BY THE WATER MELON VINE- Roberts - #0293
In 1906 the Columbia Graphophone Company announced that it had hired the Inventor of the “wireless” Guglielmo Marconi to invent a new type of recording for the company. The records that Marconi would design were quite unique for the time in that they were disc shaped and made of a vinyl like substance and were flexible and unbreakable.
This is a nice example of 10" record. It is in good condition, it is loud but has some scratchiness, so rating of G+. On reverse has two areaswhere is the edging has some rubbing, which has been scanned. There are no cracks and both sides are imaged for your review.
Artist is Baritone soloist BOB ROBERTS. It is a southern Plantation song. Sent in record mailer.
