Description
Available here is a 12" vinyl LP by Marianne Faithfull - North Country Maid. A German mono 1st pressing release, it was issued by Decca (probably in 1966 but undated). Oddly, it comes in a UK sleeve, although I have occasionally seen releases from the 60s similarly mismatched, as if the issuing country were unable to print up their own sleeves. Consequently, the record has the catalogue number BLK 16 417-P, while the cover has the UK number LK 4778.
Identifiers - The record bears the following marks…
Matrix / Runout - Side A - Stamped - ARL-7169-X - Manufactured in Germany
Matrix / Runout - Side B - Stamped - ARL-7170-X - Manufactured in Germany
Vinyl Condition - Very Good - The record is quite bright and clean and while a few light surface marks are present, there are no worrying scratches. Having listened all the way through, I can confirm no jumping or sticking but there are periodic light clicks. Background crackle/noise is moderate when heard and most noticeable during quieter moments.
Sleeve Condition - Very Good - Original front laminated outer cover with minor edge/corner wear but no splits. In addition, there’s a little stress creasing, with a disc impression mark and a couple of small stains to the back panel. Inner plain white card, die-cut, poly-lined sleeve is almost certainly an original in that it has German and English playing instructions printed at the bottom.
Second album of folk material from the young Marianne Faithfull, the track listing is as follows …
A1. Green Are Your Eyes
A2. Scarborough Fair
A3. Cockleshells
A4. The Last Thing On My Mind
A5. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
A6. Sally Free And Easy
B1. Sunny Goodge Street
B2. How Should I Your True Love Know
B3. She Moved Through The Fair
B4. North Country Maid
B5. Lullaby
B6. Wild Mountain Thyme

It is not my intention to profit from postage. If possible I use good clean recyclable material but I also buy bubble wrap, brown paper, packing tape and glue and all items are well wrapped and protected before posting. Items are also weighed and postage calculated before I list at auction and a small percentage of the charge does go towards packing costs. See About Me for further general despatch information.
