Marillion : Live at Sheffield City hall 15 - 2 - 886

This is a rare and very collectable in the Marillion 'circles' and this particular 3LP edition has been preserved so well and 'plays' to a very high standard.

I will not describe each track in detail because put simply it isn't worth it!  This is of course an un official release pressed in the USA so does not play as 'clearly' as standard vinyls.  In saying that I have played a number of the tracks and whilst it is obvious it has been recorded by 'other means' the actual clarity of sound is very impressive.  Just don't expect perfect 'live' sound!  The playback is very clean and there are no clicks or pops and barely any static.

The vinyls are visually very impressive with only a couple of very faint marks and no scratches.  Having looked at each side very closely only the first record has a minimal amount of spindle wear, hardly any really, and it is obvious the vinyls have hardly been played.  As can be seen they all have 'Special Disc Jockey Service - For Radio Programming - Los Angeles, Calif - Not For Resale' on the labels.

The track-list is interesting as is often the case!  Side A does not start with 'Torch Song' as listed but plays with 'Slainte Mhath' instead.  For some reason 'Lavender' on Side E just cuts off to be replaced by silence!

The cover is in excellent condition with only very minimal shelf wear, just some minor creasing and a little ringwear.  The vinyls are housed inside plain white inners which have no side splits.

So...anyone bidding on this album will know what to expect.  It is a collectable release but I repeat do not expect that clean 'live' sound you would expect from say 'The Thieving Magpie' album.
