Script For A Jester's Tear A1 / B1 (very first UK pressing)

This rare A1/B1 UK pressing was released in 1983 and as described below the audio still plays with wonderful quality.

Visual grading

The vinyl is wonderfully clean and even hairlines are difficult to detect.  It retains a beautiful glossy sheen and has only been played sparingly as there is only a little spindle wear.  There are only a couple of very small faint scratches on Side Two but they have no affect on the quality of the audio whatsoever.  The vinyl has always been contained within a poly-lined inner which has helped retain its high quality.  A rare A1/B1 pressing in fantastic condition. 

Play grading  

The classic title track has a little static and one click in the beginning section and then plays with high end audio and sounds fantastic, took me right back!  The quiet section from 'I act the role in classic style...' plays superbly well with only a handful of light dust ticks.  The stunning, emotional ending also plays with Near Mint quality. 'He Knows You Know' and 'The Web' both play with incredible clarity and depth and quite honestly sound as new and rarely have I heard better.  There are no clicks, pops or jumps at all.

There is a little static on the 'Garden Party' intro but is not intrusive. The remainder of the track plays with great quality and no other interference.  'Chelsea Monday' again plays like the vinyl was pressed yesterday!  I only heard two dust ticks and one click.  'Forgotten Sons' ends the LP with genuine Mint quality the sound is that good.

Gatefold cover

The gatefold is in excellent condition with only minor shelf wear.  The edges and spine are very clean although the corners do have a little rubbing.  The top edge on the back cover has worn through ever so slightly but is not an actual split and measures only 2cms.  There are a couple of small creases on the front cover but the remainder of the gatefold is very clean indeed and the inside is in exemplary condition.  Pretty good for 34 years!

Labels

They are both in great condition with only a little spindle wear.
