Description

Here is a lightly played original 1st pressing of Marillion's great Afraid of Sunlight album. This might be the rarest Marillion vinyl out there--I know I had a hard time locating it myself! I can safely say this has only been played less than 5 times total on high-end and perfectly calibrated equipment, as well as carefully handled and preserved.

The artwork looks great in the LP format, and it comes complete with a plastic outer sleeve, a Mobile Fidelity Inner Sleeve (which the LP itself has been in since I first removed it from its inner sleeve), and the original inner sleeve with the lyrics.

To be completely honest and fair, according to Goldmine Record Grading standards, I'd rate this one NM- or VG++. There are a couple light marks and scuffs from the inner sleeve, but no deep scratches that result in skips. The sleeve is VG+ with some light wear, but like the vinyl, it has been kept in a sleeve since I purchased it.

In regards to sound quality, this is not a 180gm audiophile quality pressing. This is your typical UK EMI vinyl pressing from the early 90s. There is some surface noise here and there during quiet passages, but the LP doesn't skip anywhere and it is still a very pleasant listening experience. I just want to make sure I am being completely up front and honest about its condition. Cosmetically it looks like it's NM/VG++ depending on how conservative of a grader you are. I'm rather conservative, so I'd lean towards VG++.
