Italian pressing, VROOMMM VRL 611\2 (Early 70s) Double LP
The HOLY GRAIL of the all Italian library production, one of the funkiest and most sought-after library ever. Never comes up for sale and probably the 2nd copy on eBay in the last 8+ years!
Legendary double LP issued on the great VROOMMM label, LOVE by Mario Molino is the ultimate Italian psych funk library. Credited to "Mario Molino and his group", led by Molino himself at the acoustic and electric guitars, includes an inspired lineup with musicians like:
- Gianni Mazza (Electric piano, Organ), the mighty hammond player behind many of the RRC\FLY library LPs.
- Ciro Cicco (Drums), the funky drummer behind Umiliani's To Day's sound.
- Pino Cannizzo (Bass), responsible of the killer Marmalade library on Panda label.
- Franco Goldani (Vibes, Marimba), legendary arranger for many Italian library Lps
- and many others...
Incredible studio session, an insane set of monster progressive funk tracks with a unique and powerful groove with loads of driving hard drums and heavy basslines, groovy Fender rhodes, psychedelic hammonds, acid electric guitars, stoned groovy Tenor Sax, FX and so on...
Includes the killer "Iron Piano" (comped on the great Suono libero Vol.1) featuring one of the crispiest electric piano ever over a mad instrumental ensemble. More progressive funk oddness on the 3 other variations of the main theme (more than 6 minutes each!): "Iron guitar", with a crazy Mario Molino going really extreme at the electric guitar! "Iron sax", with incredible sax work and "Iron rhythm".
Also features "For me", comped on "Vroommm, funk cinematique", a superb blue bossa jazz track (more than 5 minutes long) with jazzy vibes, tenor sax and electric piano solos. Cerainly one of the best bossa you can find on an Italian library. More straight Italian library funk on "Tutti insieme" and on "Pop rock".
Almost impossible to find nowaday, one of the very few library double Lp, comes in a funky laminated gatefold sleeve with amazing psychedelic artwork. Listen and freak out!
