1968 Italian Meridiana Records LP SMR 502. Stereo pressing
Laminated Sleeve: VG+ (top/bottom semi seam-split, 3 small bits of writing on back cover), Vinyl (Goldmine Grading): Shiny VG+/M- (tiny white mark on one side from pressing which does not affect play)
Notes: " Piccoli Complessi Jazz " was released for the series " Melodie e Ritmi di Mario Nascimbene " and immediately afterwards followed up the album " Jazz Grande Orchestra " (Meridiana S.M.R. 503). 13 instrumental tunes where genuine Jazz and very nice groovy dance tunes - still with jazzy flavours - alternate. Among the first : the well-rhythmical " BABY SWING " and " BLUES DELLA NOTTE ", both magnificently supported by an excellent piano, " ABBANDONO " a seductive blues by moderate time, " OMAGGIO A SHEARING " and " SUONO E VELLUTO ", both characterized by refined slow development.... Shake takes the lead among the dance tunes such as " ALLEGRA ESTATE " with exciting organ sound, " GIOIA DI VIVERE " and " AFRO-CUBAN SHAKE " plenty of piano virtuosities. A last mention for the unusual " COSMIC TAMOURE' " mainly based on a special sound fluidity emitted by the organ. All compositions by Mario Nascimbene, orchestra conducted by Roberto Pregadio.
