This is the fourth Vandellas studio album and - by some accounts - their most commercially successful, and most critically acclaimed work. It contains the monster hit single "Jimmy Mack", plus the gorgeous, fabulous, "Ready for love", easily the single finest girl-group song ever recorded at Motown records. And the rest of the album is just as good. This album (recorded in late 1965, released in early 1966) was the Girls' final attempt to retain their title of the reigning girl-group of Motown, Inc. Alas, Diana Ross and the Supremes already took over the title with an uninterrupted string of # 1 charting hits. An absolutely CRITICAL early Motown album, not to be missed!!! Track listing: I'm ready for love - I'll follow you - One way out - Keep it up - No more tear-stained makeup - Jimmy Mack - Let this day be - Happiness is guaranteed - Tell me I'll never be alone - Go ahead and laugh - What am I going to do without your love - He doesn 't love her anymore.

·                               CONDITION:

·                               RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs - are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible, and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(d)          This is the original, deep groove pressing

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has one corner slightly worn / frayed / bent (just a beginning of the split seam)

-         Cover has two corners slightly worn / frayed / bent (just a beginning of the split seam)

-        Cover has some fraying/wear along the spine (nothing significant)

-         Back cover has circular tarnish (grayish, dust-covered sections, which closely follow the contour of the record), probably caused by friction or by rubbing against other covers during the storage. The tarnish is similar in appearance to a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may be possible to clean up with a minor effort and with a right cleansing solution.

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 3

-         Front cover has a few yellowish dust speckles scattered here and there (these tiny spots are not overly obtrusive or distracting)

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on back side, apparently from aging.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No wrinkles or creases

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No peel-off marks

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No glue traces or wax residue.

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
