Description
One of the all-time greatest Exotica LPs, Afro-Desia by the great Marin Denny, on Stereo Liberty LST-7111. This is a very rare 1959 white label promo copy, with a promo stamp on the back and promo labels. Impossible to find promos of these early Denny records. AND this is a stereo copy, which is HUGELY superior to the mono. I know people get all precious about mono records, and that is well and good for the Beatles or The Beach Boys, but these Martin Denny records are absolutely incredible stereo experiences. They were MADE for stereo in every respect and they just sound incredible. This copy has some superficial scuffs but it plays gorgeously, with barely a tick. Maybe some faint background noise between some tracks, but really a fantastic playing copy. The cover has a little wear, mainly at the open edge and at the bottom, where there is a 5" seam split. Nonetheless this is a really lovely cover with barely any ringwear and beautifully intact and pristine artwork. One of the greatest records of the genre, and a gorgeous original stereo promo. Couldn't be better.
