Mary Millington (1945-79) was the most famous pornstar in 1970s Britain. She appeared in all the best known 'adult magazines' of the time and had a starring role in the 1977 film Come Play With Me, alongside legendary British character actress Irene Handl. The film ran for four years -- still a British cinema record. Around this time, Mary began recording 'porn audios' to accompany the many magazines she posed for.
Come Play With Me & other tales is the first release on Tangerine Press' spoken word label 10,000 Productions. Four of Mary's dirtiest stories are pressed onto vinyl for the first time, taken from tapes and flexi-discs originally released in 1978/9. Nigel V wrote, edited and produced the majority of the stories he and Mary recorded together; others were ad-libbed by Mary and edited later.
General Information: 10" high quality 140gm opaque blue vinyl. Gatefold sleeves handmade at the 10,000 Tangerine workshop, using recycled 350gsm Cairn Almond stiff card and conservation glue. Hand pulled screenprint artwork by Walden Press on front and back covers, as well as the internal full length image of Mary in the style of 1970s newsprint, when the gatefold is opened.
33 Numbered/signed copies: The first 33 copies are issued with a handsewn, numbered chapbook with an essay by Simon Sheridan, written especially for this publication. Mr. Sheridan is the author of Come Play with Me: The Life and Films of Mary Millington. Original producer Nigel V has also contributed some memories of working with Mary. The chapbook contains some rarely seen images, including an advertisement for her shop in Tooting, London, England. The chapbook itself is hand sewn with 280gsm Somerset Velvet Newsprint stiff covers; front cover design hot foil stamped in blue ink; 110gsm Five Seasons Book White, recycled, acid-free text paper; 160gsm Canson Mi-Tientes Havanna Brown endpapers. Signed by Simon Sheridan.
