A hidden geode's worth of tunage from 1971 erupts once more: Winston Matthews and The Purpleites, sharing a side each with their sun-soaked roots reggae on the 7" single 'Sun Is Shining/The Pressure Is On'. First set on tiny quantities on the UK Banana label, here they come fully molten down from the original Studio One master tapes, proffering again Matthews' uplifting, short-delayed croons and The Purpleites' rhythm-driven presh. Matthews was a better-known staple of the reggae circuit, while the Purpleites were a much rarer troupe; it's a good thing label head Coxsone Dodd had ears mainly for talent and less stature.
