MAX FLEISCHER'S GULLIVER'S TRAVELS 1939 DECCA #100 EXC COMPLETE 78 RPM RECORD SET
According to Jerry Osbourne's Movie TV Soundtrack Buyers Guide, this complete original Decca Album No. 100 set of the musical score to Max Fleischer's first feature cartoon, Gulliver's Travels is among the rarest and sought after of all early animated feature soundtracks. Fully original and in great shape, book-like album jacket measures 12x10 and features a vibrant cover image of Gulliver and all the main characters in the celebrated cartoon including Gabby, King Little, King Bombo, Sneak, Snoop and Snitch, Twinkletoes, Prince David and Princess Glory. Back cover features the same color graphic with some slight age wear at the edge. Spine has Gulliver's Travels in gold lettering over red cloth board. Lettering is slightly faded, but still very readable. Inside front cover of album jacket has multiple black and white images of the animated cast with five different numbered story images and another five different numbered story images on the inside back cover. Interior of jacket shows some very minor edge wear but is free of any notable chipping, tearing rips or other flaws typical of 78 album sets of this age. All four 10-inch Decca records are in great condition with virtually no scratches or surface flaws of any kind and each record is in their original sleeve. Soundtrack features the music of Victor Young and His Orchestra with Max Terr's Choristers. Song on the records are: Record 1: "All's Well" sung by Clarence Badger "asssted by Ernest Newton" and "We're All Together Now". Record 2: "It' A Hap Hap Happy Day" and "Bluebirds in the Moonlight", Record 3: "Forever" and "Faithful". Record 4: "I Hear a Dream" and "Faithful Forever". All feature the actual singers from the Fleischer soundtrack including Wynne Davis, Bob Stevens, Harry Stafford and the Modernettes. Overall a highly prized and rare item for both the record and animation collector.
