Original stereo 1st pressing Record Album released in the U.S. in 1969 by Elektra (EKS-74042).

This first version contains Rob Tyner's un-edited, un-censored f-bomb, and the band's manifesto on the inner gatefold -- both of which were soon removed due to pressure from retail chain stores who refused to carry the record otherwise.

The condition of the Record is VG- / close to VG (5.5/10)  glossy with no groove wear (plays with full fidelity) several light scuffs, light tracking marks in a few spots and there are a several scratches which are very lightly audible & one long audible scratch (extending from the last half of MOTOR CITY IS BURNING through the first half of the Sun Ra song STARSHIP).  This Record has been cleaned on a VPI machine and plays well.  Original Brown Labels are free from handwriting or stickers with light spindle wear. Contains the original Elektra inner-sleeve, which is slightly yellowed and split on two sides.

The condition of the ORIGINAL Gatefold Cover is VERY GOOD+ (7/10)  with some corner and seam wear (no full splits), mild ring wear, a few light crinkles in the front slick, and some minor scuffing in spots. Please note that this first-state cover contains John Sinclair's comments printed (un-edited) on the inside of the gatefold. 

OUR GRADING SYSTEM FOR VINYL RECORDS:
10  MINT / without a sinle mark & completely flawless - perfect
  9  NEAR MINT to MINT- Like new with only a few small light marks / extremely light scratches not affecting play.  A nice clean surface free of groovewear & plays like new. 
  8   VG++ / clean with very little to no groove wear and only some very light harmless marks / scuffs / very light surface scratches not affecting play.  Plays close to Near Mint / very clean. 
 7  VG+ / clean with perhaps some very light groove wear but will play with very strong to full fidelity.  Some light surface marks / scuffs / light surface scratches with only a few light scratches being very lightly audible.  Plays very well.  
 6  VG / light groove wear with more marks / scuffs / scratches - some will be audible but none should over power the music.  A decent play copy with strong fidelity.  
  5  VG- / light to moderate groove wear, will have many marks / scuffs / scratches / few light gouges being audible at times.  Also plays with loss of fidelity, ticks, pops / crackles.  Still a playable copy but far from perfect. 
  4 and lower / This Record will have many problems with wear, scratches, scuffs, gouges, cracks where mentioned...

OUR GRADING SYSTEM FOR RECORD COVERS: 
10  MINT / perfect in every way, as new. 
  9  NEAR MINT to MINT- / very clean with only extremely light signs of wear, perhaps a few small light creases, extremely light signs of handling / very little shelf wear, maybe very light signs of ring wear (no seam splits / no writing on the cover).  Will be very close to New in appearance. 
  8  VG++ / clean with perhaps some light ring wear, maybe a few small light torn areas, few light creases, very light ring wear.  Will be close to Near Mint with maybe a very small seam split or small light writing in a spot. 
  7  VG+ / may have some light creases, few lightly torn areas, some corner wear / light wear around the edges.  Maybe some very light seam splitting / few light water stains but will still be in nice shape. 
  6  VG / more wear around the edges / at the corners, some small creases, a few longer heavier creases, could have a couple of longer seam splits, maybe some light tearing, sticker residue / light sticker tears, maybe some writing + water staining...
  5  VG- / will have moderate corner / edge wear, some seam splitting, some creases, writing, torn areas, water staining, sticker residue / tearing, seam wear / splitting, etc.  The entire cover will be in once full piece - still not trashed but not the best looking. 
  4 and lower / This Cover will have some serious issues, maybe some parts missing altogether with heavy wear, many creases, water damage, torn spots, seam splitting (some entirely split), etc.

All Records (unless sealed) are cleaned on a Professional VPI machine. 

All Records are sent in a cardboard mailer with cardboard stiffeners.
