Description
Up for auction is one of the gems of my record collection: an UNCENSORED 1969 pressing on Monarch Records of Kick Out The Jams by the MC5.
As shown in the pictures, the inner sleeve of the gatefold cover contains the uncensored liner notes by John Sinclair. There is a split in the middle of the seam of the outer sleeve about one inch long; it has been taped from the outside. There is also wear to the corners of the outer sleeve as well as some splitting where the edges have come apart. I have done my best to illustrate these faults in the pictures.
The good news is that the vinyl itself is in much better shape than the sleeve. There are light surface scratches present on both sides, but the vinyl is still glossy and generally plays beautifully, free of obvious cracks or pops. Further, the mustard-colored labels on both sides are in pristine condition.
Perhaps even more important is that the title track contains the famous **uncensored** opening lyric, guaranteed to get you fired up!
