Description

Up for bid is a Rare MC5 45 rpm record Looking At You/Borderline on A-Square Records (A2-333). Released in 1968 produced by John Sinclair with label artwork by the one and only Gary Grimshaw. This one of the 500 pressed for release. Record is from my personal collection and have had it in my collection since 1969. As you can tell from photos I wrote my name on side B (Borderline) and colored in side A (Looking At You). I guess you could say i defaced an original Grimshaw. How was I to know there were only 500 pressed for I was a bored artistic challenged teenager. Record is in VG+ condition light scuffs from use. According to John Sinclair (who had never produced a record before) his idea in production was to improve the audio for AM radio air play. Thus the record was released unmixed. Thus is noticeable when listening to record. Maybe that's why there were only 500 pressed. In my opinion it sort of captures the raw energy of MC5.  Record has minor wear on label despite my artistic addition (see photos). Happy Bidding!
