Description
This is a RARE CENSORED GOLD / BROWN LABEL ORIGINAL 1968 PRESSING OF THE 1968 ELEKTRA RECORDS U.S. LP titled 'Kick Out The Jams', with eight classics from the legendary Detroit punky hard rockers MC5. It is Elektra Records U.S. catalog number EKS-74042, gatefold cover, gold / brown mid-1960s Elektra labels, with a small drill hole near the upper left corner of the cover indicating a promo or a cutout copy. Record comes packaged inside the cover in its original Elektra Records 1960s-era gold and white stock inner sleeve.
This censored version of 'Kick Out The Jams' has the phrase 'brothers and sisters' substituted for the more controversial original phrase that is heard at the beginning of the song 'Kick Out The Jams' on the uncensored version of this LP. Original 1968 censored pressings of this LP are much more commonly seen with red Elektra labels, the gold / brown label censored pressing is very hard to find here on eBay or anyplace else.
Labels are identical to those seen one the original 1968 uncensored version with gold / brown Elektra Label with stylized band logo, but audio is censored, and the inside of the gatefold cover contains no liner notes in gatefold as are contained in the uncensored version.

- Condition of record is a SOLID NM with no visible surface marks; record does have an extremely slight and barely existent slow warp which only becomes apparent when the record is placed on a turntable, and which has absolutely no effect on play. Condition of cover is a high VG+ with the aforementioned drill hole, a little ring and contact wear, and a little wear along the edges and on the corners as the only real flaws.
