Description
M.D.C. Millions of Dead Cops. Radical Records MDC-1, white cover, red label, "no war, no kkk, no fascist usa," matrix, etc. With original two-sided song insert. Ridiculously collectible, classic punk rawk vinyl record from 1982.
But wait, there's more:
What's unique about this one is that the back is signed by each band member (Dave, Ron, AlSchvitz, and Franco), each with a personal note to the late, notorious Bob Noxious, singer of the great '80s San Francisco band, the Fuck Ups. In his message, AlSchvitz thanks Bob for welcoming them to San Francico; MDC moved to San Francisco from Austin in '82, so I'd guess that's when they signed the record, but don't quote me on that.
Also, there is a stack of stapled photocopies of Dave's handwritten lyrics (maybe for performing?).
I've had this one for years, but I don't remember where or how I got it (Reckless? Revolver? garage sale?)
(I've also got an FU82 signed by all the Fuck Ups (Joe Dirt's signature is coming out of the baby's ass like a fart - hilarious). I'm going to hang on to that one until I'm eating rat-on-a-stick, which, come to think of it, might not be before too long...)
Cover: Decent used condition. Typical shelf wear for a record this old. Some creases along the bottom front. The four corners are feathered about a half inch, with a 1.5" hairline split extending down from the top spine corner. 2" split at the center of the bottom sleeve. The cover is somewhat dirty from years of grubby punker hands; could be cleaned up if you're into that kind of thing. The lyric sheet is in good shape, except for a dog ear at one corner. The stack of Dave's lyrics has a beer or drool stain, the staple is rusted, and one of the pages has separated from the stack. The sleeve is just a ratty plain white sleeve.
Record: Looks pretty good, considering the pedigree...Several questionable looking scratches and marks, but the record plays very well. No skips or pops. A few light clicks between songs. There are three small marks on 'Business on Parade" that you can feel with your nail, but I couldn't hear any problem in the song. Light intermittent surface noise. Otherwise, just some surface scratches that have little or no affect on play
