Original and rare import pressing of The Gimme Gimmes 'Blow In The Wind' album which is a brilliant punk inspired tribute to their favourite songs.
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are the self proclaimed greatest ever punk rock supergroup covers band, to be fair that statement isn't that far from the truth.
Formed in San Francisco in 1995. The band came about as all great bands do with drunken ideas and friends wanting to have a really good time
From the outset with their name taken from a children's book the bands whole ethos was to garner mass appeal work exclusively as a covers band and a general hope to keep the kids entertained.
Their songs are very carefully chosen for their massive public appeal and are rapid-fire punk interpretations of said songs, often with a humorous edge.
The band are also very creative with their cover style and incorporate melodies and riffs from classic punk songs into their own unique versions of the songs that they cover.
Fat Mike from NOFX said in interview:
"In the Gimmes we do what the f**k we want - I mean none of us has any f*"ker to impress.! - people will either like us or hate us - we don't care which"
Blow in the wind is an album that does not disappoint, laden with harmonies to die for, melodies you'll be more than familiar with, and a plethere of classic punk riffs for you to spot.
This is an absolutely essential Punk rock tribute purchase on quality vinyl and a great addition to your Punk music library or indeed any quality punk record collection.
Both vinyl, sleeve and insert all in excellent overall shape.
