Label:   NEW RENAISSANCE ~ NRR-34.  Label is black with silver text.  Stereo pressing on medium weight vinyl.  

Year:  1987.

Condition: 

DISC:  Vinyl is NEAR MINT with 100% of original gloss, as clean as can be found.  Appears to have been played one or two times at most, and handled with care.  Labels are clean.  Fidelity is superb.  A solid “10” out of 10.   

JACKET:   Jacket (laminated) is nice VG+.  Front panel is clean, with a few slight traces of ring wear, and some light staining on the bottom half.  Light wear on seams and spine.  Corner tips have been lightly bumped.  Reverse is clean with no writing or stickers.  Not a cutout.  Overall a decent jacket to accompany the beautiful disc.     

Includes the original single-sheet insert on glossy paper stock, with lyrics on one side and band photos on the other.  The insert has some rippling and light moisture staining visible on one side, but no rips or other issues.

“Medieval's only album, 1987's Medieval Kills!, never even made it to CD format, but remains a popular collector's item among heavy metal anthropologists to this day.  Though often lumped with the hordes of speed metal groups which dominated the era (and the remainder of their label, New Renaissance's, roster) because of their often demonic lyrics, Medieval were anything but a thrash band.  In fact, their songs tended to be blues-based concoctions, neither as complicated nor as melody-averse as most thrashers, which the trio simply chose to play at maximum speed, volume and distortion -- reminiscent of Motörhead and some of the lesser known New Wave of British Heavy Metal bands, like Blitzkrieg or Raven.  In other words, Medieval sounds as though it was recorded in their parents' garage, and bristles with a raw, uncontained energy, focused to a razor sharp edge on bruising cuts like "Black Assassin," "Reign of Terror" and "All Knobs to the Right" (that's the knobs of an amplifier, by the way).  Yet, amazingly, out of all this youthful racket, one can actually see glimpses of greater songwriting maturity ready to manifest itself -- be they in the somber bass reverberations which introduce opener "Somnambulism," or the melodic intro to irresistible head-banger "World War IV."  Throw in a turbo charged version of the "Peter Gunn Theme" and this album is a quite strange, but fascinating bird for serious '80s speed metal enthusiasts to seek out.”
