Description
In the latter part of 1964 Capitol Records found itself overwhelmed with orders for Beatles records. Their pressing plants just could not produce enough records fast enough to meet demand. Therefore, Capitol contracted this task out to a few other well known companies. One such company was RCA, and that is the company that pressed the two Capitol contract pressings I have listed today!
These contract issues are sought out by Beatles collectors because of the limited number that were pressed.

Matrix: Side 1--T1 2047 P19 Side 2--T2 2047 T22
"The Beatles Second Album" Capitol RCA T-2080
Matrix: Side 1--TX 2080 J16
Side 2--TX 2080 G16
RCA contract pressings are identified in the following ways:
1. The letter "R" is found in the dead wax. "R" represents the year the record was pressed, 1964. (The "R" is present in the dead wax of " The Beatles Second Album.")
2. The letter "I" is also stamped in the dead wax. This represents the RCA Indianapolis, Indiana pressing plant. (The "I" is present in the dead wax of "Meet The Beatles.")
3. The pressing ring on the labels measures 1-1/4" out from the spindle hole.
4. The matrix numbers in the dead wax area are consistent with the RCA small machine stamped font.
Grading for "Meet The Beatles."--VG+/ VG++, with a bit of surface sound mainly heard between tracks.
Labels: VG+ / VG++, with some sticker residue Side 2.
Cover: Strong VG. Seams and spine in great shape. Some rub wear front cover.
Grading For "The Beatles Second Album."--Sound quality-Solid VG+.
There are some superficial scuffs and scratches.
The labels are Near Mint!
