TITLE: “MEET THE BEATLES ” (Capitol Record Club ST 8-2047 – Stereo)
COVER: Rare RECORD CLUB PRESSING with BLACK SLASHES & ST 8–2047 ON UPPER WHITE BORDER & Factory #16 on back.
LABELS: Rare BLACK COLORBAND RECORD CLUB PRESSING .
“MEET THE BEATLES” BLACK COLORBAND RECORD CLUB You’re looking at a beautiful copy of this very hard to come by BLACK COLORBAND RECORD CLUB PRESSING that has a NEAR MINT VALUE of $450.00!
RECORD ALBUM: (VG+) A fantastic sounding piece of vinyl.
Record: Play tested. No skips. Vinyl sounds like it’s barely been played. The only thing keeping this record from being NEAR MINT is some light jacket rubs and some spindle hole fraying. Hardly a pop or click to be found anywhere, even between songs. I just finished playing this album, and even on my cheap record player, it still sounds fantastic. Both sides still retain most of their original luster.
Labels: Both labels still look pretty good even with the previously mentioned spindle fraying. (SEE IMAGES.)
Sleeve: Comes in a new generic sleeve.
ALBUM COVER: (VG+) A really nice example of a black & white cover that usually shows a good amount of wear and scuffing, particularly on the back. I wanted to give this a NEAR MINT, but a few very minor flaws, that I will describe later, kept me from doing so. (SEE IMAGES.)
Front: The front cover slick is in fantastic shape with all its images and artwork looking clean and sharp with only the slightest hint of ringwear just starting to show. (SEE IMAGES.)
Back: The rear cover also looks really good. (That is especially unusual for this black & white cover that usually has plenty of scuffs and scratches from just being laid down on various surfaces.) All of its text is sharp and there is only the slightest hint of ringwear just starting to show. It does have a very small crease at the bottom left corner, and one over the hash marks at the upper right corner. (SEE IMAGES.)
Seams: The only seam splits on the entire cover is a 1/2 inch split at the bottom of the open end and a 1/2 inch split at the bottom of the spine. There is about 2.5 inches of minor fraying at the center of the top seam .
Spine: A great looking spine with just some crinkling around the catalog number and two minor corner dings. (SEE IMAGES.)
