Description
This auction is for the ultra rare Japanese pressing of "Meet the Beatles".
The condition of the vinyl is a very conservative Good. Bearing in mind the record is over 45 years old it is in incredible condition, with no significant jumps, scratches or clicks to be heard on either side during play.
A collector would be hard pressed to find a superior sounding copy to this lovingly preserved record.
This is a highly sought after, historic pressing. The ground breaking technology used by Toshiba Musical Industries was regarded as revolutionary in its day; the so called "Ever Clean" LPs received an anti static treatment that ensured superficial noise deterioration was kept to a minimum.
The remarkable clarity of sound all these years later are testimony to just how effective this was.
The sleeve is also in Good condition although there is wear on the spine, as one would expect from a record of this vintage.
The discolouration visible on the black areas of the front cover pictures are purely reflections on the laminated sleeve. This is not apparent on the actual item - aside from the frayed spine which I have already mentioned, there is a tiny white blemish on the cover slightly to the right of Macca's face and underneath the Odeon logo. This must be all of a couple of millimetres across, so please be assured I am being super critical of any imperfection as I do not want to mislead the eventual buyer.
I have kept the LP under heavy duty plastic casing and it has barely been played in the twenty plus years I have been lucky enough to own it.
The Cat No is OR-7041. A side (2EJ-13), B side (2EJ-14).
The record retailed at 1,500 Yen when first produced. This was quite a price at that time!
A must have for any serious Beatles collector. Do not miss the chance to own a piece of Rock N Roll history.
