Description
MEET THE BEATLES
Released: January 20, 1964
Capitol ST-2047
***MEGA RARE ALBUM ***
1964 ORIGINAL with “Beatles” in BROWN Lettering.
THIS 1ST RELEASE ORIGINAL COVER IS THE VERY RARE STEREO WEST COAST #6, and no George Martin listed on cover as producer
WITH THE "STEREO NEEDLE DAMAGE" INFO AT BOTTOM OF BACK COVER
It's the ORIGINAL with “Beatles” in BROWN lettering with “NO PRODUCER "George Martin" CREDIT shown ON THE BACK COVER (LOWER LEFT)”
THIS ALBUM COVER is fairly rare. I bought this album February 1st 1964 in Ville Platte, Louisiana at Floyd’s Record Shop while attending college at LSU.
Stereo copies of Beatles albums manufactured prior to 1966 are significantly RARER than their Mono counterparts. It's estimated that only FIFTEEN percent of
Capitol's Beatles albums manufactured “prior to 1966 were Stereo”.
Sophisticated Dealers and Collectors are beginning to realize that “Stereo pressings with the FIRST THREE LABEL VARIATIONS OF THIS ALBUM are much less common” than the much preferred and touted Mono copies of "Meet the Beatles".
I have place the album in a clear protective Mylar record album sleeve to protect it Please view all the pictures and be sure to ask questions, should you have any.
FACT: FIRST LABEL VARIATION OF THIS LP WAS ONLY PRODUCED ON “THE EAST COAST (SCRANTON)”
FACT: SECOND LABEL VARIATION (ONE "BMI") PRODUCED ON THE WEST COAST IS THEREFORE THIS A VERY “ FIRST PRESSING OF THE LP”.
FURTHERMORE, ON PAGE 19, OF BRUCE SPIZER'S GREAT CAPITOL ALBUMS BOOK,
HE STATES THE FACT THAT THE STEREO VARIATION OF THIS LABEL STYLE SHOULD EXIST, AND HAS BEEN CONFIRMED SINCE - AND THIS ALBUM IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW MEGA-RARE COPIES TO TURN UP. THIS LOS ANGELES PRESSING ABSOLUTELY GREAT FIND. THE RECORD IS IN” VG+, PLAYED” CONDITION. HAS A VERY LIGHT SLEEVE RUB WITH A HAIRLINE SCRATCH THAT IS UN FEELABLE? THE RECORD STILL PLAY’S VERY GOOD THE LABELS ARE NM CONDITON
