Description

Prestige Folklore 14027, “Meet the New Strangers” with Danny Kalb, guitar and vocals; Sam Charters, piano and guitar; from 1964. Liner notes by Dave Van Ronk. This is an original sealed copy and is presumed mint. The jacket is entirely enclosed in loose baggie-type wrap and shows no signs of wear or moisture damage. Songs are “Back Door”, “Winin’ Boy”, “I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore”, “Ramblin’ on My Mind”, “Frisco Bound”, “If I Had My Way”, “Alberta”, “Come On In”, “Church I’m Fully Saved Today”, “Key to the Highway”, “44 Blues”, and “New Strangers Blues”. Their only album ever! Prestige Folklore was one of the great imprints from the heady days of the folk revival; this is one of a sequenced set of Prestige folk LPs listed this week. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. A few record labels such as Folkways may be slightly more expensive to ship overseas. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
