Description

(10" LP) DUCRETET-THOMPSON 270 C 048 (France, 1950's, mono)

Agnelle BUNDERVOET, piano.

BACH
Choral "Wachet auf"
Chaconne in D minor (transcr. Busoni)
Toccata and fugue in E minor
Toccata and fugue in D major.

THIS IS NOT ONLY ONE OF THE RAREST AND MOST SOUGH AFTER PIANO LP,
BUT ONE OF THE TRUE MARVELS OF THE PIANO PLAYING EVER, WHATEVER THE COMPOSER,
and takes your breath from beginning to end.
(HER INTENSE PLAYING WAS ADMIRED BY YVONNE LEFEBURE AND JEANNE-MARIE DARRE).
IT IS THE SECOND TIME WE SEE IT IN 13 YEARS, SO WE CAN SELL ONE COPY NOW (your attention please: WE SELL HERE THE BEST ONE, the one with almost no factory wax blasting noise…).
SUPERLATIVE SOUND PRESENCE !
Has some random ticks or cracks, but a good background with regards to the 50's vinyl quality. See our description for details but please remember that we try to describe the true condition, with COMPLETE PRECISE PLAYGRADING, not only visual, and do not give easily the EX grading. The sound is of outstanding presence and you easily forget the local cracks, but one who wants a perfect copy, despite the great rarity of it, must not bid here… (reasonable reserve price).

SLEEVE CONDITION: VG++ (very clean, globally close to EX, only few barely visible signs of wear/age, except little marginal surface loss at top right corner on front, concerns also the spine at this place, little marginal surface tears on top left on back, as shown on our photos - absolutely no tear or split at spines)

(revised: we have just cancelled the "pick-up only" shipping, and made 2 best images of the cover)

RECORD CONDITION : VG+ occas. G (shiny surface, showing some local accidents as follows. A-side/ Shows usual superficial scuffs and also 3 millimetric spots of wear, 1 very short groove greying (not sounding), and 3 very short parallel scratches. Playgrading = light frying, as record has been played but also from vinyl quality, with occas. single ticks and sometimes light to average cracks : in the middle the 3 little scratches give 15 light double-clicks, then another mark gives 4 light cracks, and the second half of the side is more quiet ; attention: the wax sounds some light blasting each rev. at the beginning during 2-3 minutes, more sensible at silent moments, which often happens with 1950's vinyl - but is not visible - and for this LP can be very harder and longer… as on our personal same LP) /// B-side/ shiny, shows many superficial scuffs not sounding and few of it we can call superficial scratches, visible but barely sensible with fingers, lightly sounding. Playgrading: some frying, a bit present at the beginning, then lighte ; random ticks and few single light cracks, during 1 minute some light double-cracks but on intense piano playing, 3 cracks at the end of 1st toccata ; 2nd toccata quiet except single ticks).
( Please see our grading table on our ABOUT ME page )
