CALLING 1,000 DREAD LOCKS by DENNIS ALCAPONE / SKIN, FLESH & BONES - CHALWA RECORDS Cat No #BAY001
This is a rare opportunity for serious lovers and collectors of roots and dub to own what is apparently one of the rarest reggae albums ever.
Featuring the talents of a stellar line-up of legends including Alcapone, Augustus Pablo, Alton Ellis, Dave Barker, King Tubby and Clem Bushay, apparently only 500 copies of this record were ever produced. I picked this copy up in a junk shop in Brixton south London years ago. I don't know too much else about this record but there is a bit of background here....

This copy is not in the greatest condition - but good luck finding a better one! It is without its original sleeve - which was actually just a plain white sleeve with an info sheet in red type stuck to the side, so you could probably make a replica one pretty easily if you wanted to. The vinyl is probably somewhere between Good+ and VG- on the Record Collector Magazine grading scale. It has plenty of visible marks and light scratches (mainly on the last two tracks on side 1) but it plays fine with no jumps or ruts, just a bit of atmospheric background crackle. The beautiful labels on the obscure Chalwa label are in VG+/EX- condition.
