A couple of weeks ago I went to a remote NSW town and came across a guy who'd been buying prog/folk/psych/blues/R&B LP's for about 40 years. Relentlessly scouring the area. And he'd never sold anything. Except - on that day, he decided to. And he did. And it was thee best collection I'd seen for years. Let's not pretend everything was mint - it's not - but there's some gems in there.

This below is from that collection (which snuck in a few other genres too).

ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING?:    Yes, it is...

On offer here is a very rare promotional copy (never seen one before) of the (stupidly-rare-anyway) original Banner issue of the only album by this Sydney-based group.  This is guitar-and-flute-heavy prog of a very high order! It was released in October 1971 and had a life of a mere 5 months before it was deleted in March 1972.  The album contains three originals, three cover versions & one adaptation of a traditional song.  The opening two tracks (two of the originals) are very similar to Jethro Tull but with a more esoteric folksy-rock edge.  “Out in the Country” (co-written by Paul Williams, and recorded with some level of success by Three Dog Night) and the other original,  “Jennifer in New York” are Moody Blues-style ethereal prog tunes (both are EXCELLENT!!).  But the one you'll wanna hear over and over is their heavy progressive blues-rock arrangement of the traditional song “Cuckoo” - it's a scorcher with some killer guitar!  The two other songs, “Young Lovers Do” & “Madame George” are Van Morrison covers, both from his “Astral Weeks” album - great versions.

CONDITION - COVER:  ( VG )...has some staining as is apparent in the pix, a couple of tears on the opening edge, a crease at top right, and a seam split on the spine

CONDITION - RECORD:  ( VG[-] )...has quite a few marks, but still plays very well...yes, there are some crackles but they're not too loud nor offensive...the music is WAY louder than any background noise...

CONDITION - LABELS:   (Side One: M- / Side Two: M- )...

PACKAGING AND MAILING:  Absolutely ALL care will be taken when packaging this - record and sleeve will be separated to avoid any damage in transit, and both will be packed in a sealed outer light plastic sleeve between layers of strong very flat and thick card - I've been doing this for a while and have attained a good safe packing standard.
