MENELIK WOSSENACHEW - MEKABERENE LIYEW & CHEREKA - TWO GREAT ETHIOPIAN FUNK TRACKS ON AN ORIGINAL 45 ON AMHA RECORDS WITH PSYCHEDELIC COLOURED VINYL AND PICTURE SLEEVE.
A SIDE: MEKABERENE LIYEW
B SIDE: CHEREKA
VINYL CONDITION: VG+ (coloured vinyl)
SLEEVE CONDITION: VG++ (writing on back of sleeve)
CATALOGUE NUMBER: AE 810
Rare original Ethiopian funk 45 on the Amha Label featuring two uptempe funk tracks, both with heavy breaks. Produced by Girma Beyene and rumoured to feature Mulatu on keys, though this is unconfirmed.
On the A side Mekaberene Liyew is a melancholy yet driving mid tempo funk track featuring keys and wah wah guitar backed with a thumping drum break.
On the B side Chereka is a riotous uptempo funk track featuring changes in tempo and a horn.
Recently discovered amongst an ex-distributor's stock in Addis.
Vinyl is in unusually good condition for an original Ethiopian 45 (graded following the Goldmine guide).
