Merzbow / Masonna "Latex Black / Latex Gold" 7" acetate issued by Coquette and ZSF Produkt (COQ 79) in Japan, 1992. "Damaged Art Edition" limited to 13 copies. This copy No. 02/13. Handmade elaborate latex cover. ****** Rec:m (not playable) Cov:ex ****** Of the impressive Merzbow discography this is surely one of the most rare edition. A unique collaboration between noise legends Merzbow and Masonna and co-released through Coquette/ZSF, this record was produced in an edition of 50 copies only, 'available' for a very short time in 1992 to customers directly in touch with the artists. Even more esoteric than this, almost no one knows that an Art Edition limited to 13 copies was also produced... One of those impossible to find copies is offered here! Masami Akita earliest music was made with tape loops and creatively recorded percussion and metal, and has been compared to Throbbing Gristle and Nurse With Wound (an acknowledged influence). Early methods included what he referred to as "Material Action", in which he would closely amplify small sounds so as to distort them through the microphone; later, he made several albums of "SCUM" ("Scissors for Cutting Up Merzbow" / "Society for Cutting Up Merzbow"), for which he would cut up previous Merzbow albums until they resembled something new. His tendency to work in themed phases recalls his training as a visual artist. He released his music on cassettes through his own record label, Lowest Music & Arts, which was founded in 1979. In the early 1980s, after meeting the Italian avant-gardist noise artist Maurizio Bianchi / M. B. in Milan, he founded a second label, ZSF Produkt. Please note that the edition offered here is to be considered as an art multiple and the record itseld (not playable) as a unique artifact! ****** Handmade latex cover with Art elaboration and collage of plastic and metal materials. ****** (references: avant, experimental, power electronics, ZSF, Coquette, Alchemy, Hijo Kaidan, Whitehouse, Maurizio Bianchi, M.B., New Blockaders, Incapacitans, Violent Onsen Geisha, Hanatarash) ****** ATTENTION!!! the following are the correct postage costs: unregistered priority mail is about 13 US dollars to europe and 15 US dollars to the rest of the world (except for oceania to which it is 18 US dollars). please note that with unregistered priority mail the item will be shipped at your only risk (since there will be no receipt of the shipment, in case of loss the seller is not to be considered responsible in any case). registered airmail is about 16 US dollars to europe and 19 US dollars to the rest of the world (except for oceania to which it is 22 US dollars). please note that winning multiple items can make you save on postage. preferred payment is paypal, although other options may be available.
