Description

I am an aging headbanger reluctantly selling off my collection of metal records.

This is an incredibly RARE Elektra Records-issued 12" 1986 promotional single for "Master of Puppets."  Essentially, it's a 3 minute, 32 second edit of the song, which simply fades out at the end. Many people refer to this version as "Part 1 - vocal/edit."

The black vinyl is in excellent condition - has never been played. The record comes in an Elektra sleeve which features company logo, graphic of stereo needle, and red/white label colors. One side also features sticker on upper right hand corner which reads, "Metallica; Master of Puppets; Part 1; From the gold album (and soon to be platinum) Master of Puppets; Get the idea? ED 5139."

The white record label features Elektra logo, and the following text, identical on both sides: ELEKTRA; STEREO; 33 1/3 RPM; ED 5139; A SIDE; (c) 1986 Elektra/Asylum Records; METALLICA; MASTER OF PUPPETS (3:32) (PART 1) VOCAL/EDIT; (Hetfield/Ulrich/Burton/Hammett); Creeping Death Music, (ASCAP); ST-ED-5139-A-SP; Produced by Metallica and Flemming Rasmussen; Mixed by Michael Wagener; Arranged by Hetfield and Ulrich; Engineered by Flemming Rasmussen; Edit of Elektra LP 60439 - "MASTER OF PUPPETS"; PROMOTIONAL COPY; NOT FOR SALE. In fine print along outer margin of label reads: Manufactured and distributed by Elektra/Asylum/Nonesuch Records, 75 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, New York, 10019, 9229 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90069/ A division of Warner Communications.

This is the real deal and VERY hard to find.

Tracks side 1
1, Master of puppets - Part 1 vocal / edit (3:32)
Tracks side 2
1, Master of puppets - Part 1 vocal / edit (3:32)
