Description

  • This is the rare 1985 US Elektra Megaforce Records release of the black vinyl white label promo 12 inch single "Fade To Black" by Metallica.  Not as desirable as the promo glow in the dark vinyl but perhaps rarer.

  • The condition of the record is beautiful and it sounds amazing.  The labels and song are the same on both sides. There appears to have been 2 labels erroneously pressed on one side because there is some bubbling of the label.  That usually happens when there is a mistake at the pressing plant and the label gets pressed twice.  Also there is a small stain on one label.  See photos for details.
  • The sleeve is in VG+ condition and it has the radio "Friday Morning Quarterback" hype sticker on it. The hype sticker is adhered to a stock Elektra 12" sleeve.  There is some storage wear to the sleeve including light ring wear.

  • Jerry Gavin who is quoted on the hype sticker was the music director at WQFM Radio in Milwaukee.  I'm not sure where he got his stats but I don't believe WQFM would actually add Metallica to their rotation until "One" nearly 4 years later!
