Description
- 12 inch, stereo, LP. 33 1/3 rpm
- Originally issued in 1986, in the UK on the 'Music For Nations' label, this appears to be the first UK pressing
- This classic album was the last to feature Cliff Burton on bass
- Track listing:
- Side 1:- Track 1 - Battery; Track 2 - Master Of Puppets; Track 3 - The Thing That Should Not Be; Track 4 - Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
- Side 2:- Track 1 - Disposable Heroes; Track 2 - Leper Messiah; Track 3 - Orion; Track 4 - Damage, Inc.
- Produced by Metallica and Flemming Rasmussen
- Recorded at Sweet Silence Studios, Copenhagen between September and December 1985
- The front cover was designed by Metallica and Peter Mensch and painted by Don Brautigam. The back features a full track listing and photos of the band from various sources
- The inner sleeve photography is by Ross Haflin
- Paper, printed inner sleeve with lyrics and writing credits on one side and acknowledgments, credits and band photos on the other.
- Red and yellow labels with no country on them. The album has no barcode and the text on the back of the cover is all in white
- Catalogue number MFN 60
- Matrix marks:- Side 1: etched MFN 60 - A7
- Side 2: etched MFN 60 B3 RR 9913(?) erased and RR 9717 (printed)
Condition
- The record itself appears to be in very good condition apart from a very faint scratch across tracks 1 and 2 of side two. Unfortunately we currently have no facility for playing records so we are unable to attest to playback quality. There are no signs of warping.
- The outer sleeve has some very faint creases, ring wear and edge wear but is generally very good and otherwise unmarked.
- The inner sleeve has some faint creases and ring wear (see photos)
- Based on the guidelines of the Record Collectors Guild, I would say this record is 'Very Good' (www.recordcollectorsguild.org)
