OTHER :  Original FIRST Japan vinyl LP press of iconic Metallica album, last with Cliff Burton... OBI, ALL Inserts: two Picture inserts and Gatefold lyric insert containing a band biography in Japanese. Narrow strip of discoloration along the edge on the front and back of outer sleeve, but Excellent Plus Insert and Near Mint Vinyl !

DETAILED CONDITION:

VINYL :  Near Mint. Shining clear vinyl !

LABELS : Near Mint.

OUTER SLEEVE : Excellent. Narrow strip of discoloration along the edge of the front (slightly wider) and rear above – looks like a factory print defect (please see photos !). Slight round wear. A few light impression marks.

OBI : Excellent Plus. Very small (3 mm) tear and traces of light jam on the back surface of OBI.

PICTERE INSERTS (TWO) : Excellent Plus. Slight traces of depression from a record. Please see photos !

ENGLISH / JAPANESE GATEFOLD INSERT: Near Mint. Please see photos !

GRADING 

I only grade as mint where the record is brand new and sealed with no visible damage to the sleeve. 

Near Mint (NM):

Sleeve: Will only show very minor signs of storage/handling wear. It may have slight corner bumps/rub, ringwear and maybe very minor creasing. It will have no rips or splits.

Record: Will be in a new like condition. Very Clean. It may have very, very minor defects such as no more than a couple of very light wispy hairlines and a couple of spindle trails around the centre holes. Basically a record in NM condition will look like you have just got it back from the record shop or at worse only had a couple of plays.

Excellent (EX):

Sleeve: As NM but the signs of wear will become a little more pronounced. There may be signs of stress at the seams maybe the beginnings of a split. It may have a cut out hole indicating that it was taken out of print. There may be a little graffiti on the sleeve or label.

Record: Will show signs of play but has been well looked after by the previous owner. It may show a few more light marks/scuffs than a NM. These marks won't be deep enough to be felt. There may be the odd click or crackle upon playback. Slight warps are that don't effect the sound are OK. 

Very Good (VG): 

Sleeve: A VG sleeve will have many of the defects found in a EX but more pronounced. Seam splits may be more obvious or may be taped or show residue. There may be small rips. It may show some age/handling discolouration. Laminate may be bubbled, may be marred with writing. 

Record: Wear and defects will be more obvious with marks/scuffs deep enough to feel with a fingernail. Groove wear will be more noticeable. Sound deterioration and surface noise will become more likely especially during quieter passages.
