Description

Original owner and long time audiophile auctioning off my personal box set of Mobile Fidelity MFSL Original Master Recordings  "Sir Georg Solti conducts Bizet's Carmen" with Placido Domingo, Kiri Te Kanawa, Troyanos, etc  This is the limited edition box  set 3 LPs  pressed in Japan on virgin vinyl.

Box is in Exc condition (although the limited edition serial number has fallen off long time ago). The 3 LPs are in Exc+ conservatively.

I acquired this MFSL Carmen box set in 1984. The MFSL box set comes with all 3 LPs and a booklet.

I love modern operas like Carmen since you actually can listen and understand the words (assuming you do speak French) being sung.

For fans of Bizet, I will throw in the RCA Victor LP box set Carmen as conducted by Herbert von Karajan with the Vienna Philharmonic, Leontyne Price, Franco Corelli and Robert Merrill. Unfortunately this RCA LDS-6164 box set is incomplete (I bought it used) and 1 of the 3 LPs is missing (side 1 and 6) as well as the booklet. The RCA box is in Good condition and the 2 LPs are in VG conditions.

Both the Solti and Karajan performances were superbly recorded. The jury is out as to which version has the better performance. Many say it is Solti. I have my personal preferences but I let you (the winner) decide on your own.

Local winner can pick up if so desired.

Thanks for your interests.
