This is
the
Mobile Fidelity
Half Speed Mastered LP
by
Simon & Garfunkel
titled
"Bridge Over Troubled Water"
(Mobile Fidelity MFSL 1-173) (1985) (U.S.)
This was one of the very last titles that was pressed by JVC before they quit doing records for MoFi. During this time in the '80's; Mobile Fidelity was having financial difficulties and LP's weren't selling well because cd's were the new hot thing. Because of these reasons; they didn't produce very many of any one title and that is why this one is so hard to find. Actually, considering what a classic album this is; it's really amazing how hard it is to find this one. JVC had a minimum run of 5000 so Mobile only ordered what they thought they could sell. Because of the great sonics, and low production numbers; this is becoming one of the most in demand titles that MoFi did, and this is a stunning copy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The record is in great condition with no marks or scratches, even under intense light. There is a small patch of dust scratches on side two and some faint traces of where fingers touched the vinyl that can be seen under bright enough light. There are no spindle marks on the labels. The jacket is also in very nice condition with just some light edge wear and no splits, promo holes, cuts or bends.
It is from a smoke free audiophile home and has been professionally cleaned on a VPI 27 Typhoon record cleaning machine, and then again on a KL Audio Ultrasonic record cleaning machine.
The photos are of the actual item for sale
One of the nicest sounding Mo-Fi titles.
