Description
Up for auction is one of the most collectible LPs on eBay: MOBILE FIDELITY SOUND LAB'S 'ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDING' HALF-SPEED MASTERED ULTRA HIGH QUALITY RECORDING (UHQR) of The Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band. In the early 1980s, UHQR's were audiophiles' dream, presenting music of sonic quality beyond any previous technology and only rivaled today by certain digitally-remastered DTS recordings. The LPs were pressed in Japan on 200-gram virgin vinyl, maximizing longevity and minimizing potential for pops, clicks or any other form of aural static. The album was half-speed mastered, ensuring, as with MFSL's other 'Original Master Recordings' , that a listener with a decent turntable and quality speakers could be confident of hearing the music almost exactly as the artist/producer/engineer heard it in the studio and intended for it to be heard. ONLY 5000 copies of each offering were pressed, ensuring its value as a collectible. It is housed in a quality inner sleeve, surrounded by packing materials and housed in a sturdy black box with silver and red graphics. Each disc contains a UHQR certificate of authenticity with the edition number (809/5000), signed by the President of Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs, Herbert A. Belkin. The LP is GEM MINT CONDITION includes all the original packaging including the Certificate of Authenticity.
