Description
Released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in March of 1982 (MFQR 1 - 507), this was the second Classical title chosen for inclusion in the UHQR series. For those who were or are familiar with the standard pressing of this performance (which was released through Decca Records in 1977) hearing this more detailed and elaborate UHQR pressing will be like a revelation. Absolutely astonishing highs and lows to boggle the mind.
Numbered Jacket: VG(+).....overall in pretty decent condition.....slight bend to one corner....some minor creases. Comes with audiophile inner-sleeve.
Record: Fair+ ~ VG(-).......visually both sides have hairlines and light marks. Plays with surface noise and ticks. There are no skips, sticking, or jumps. When the music increases in tempo and the orchestra is full on there is barely anything to fault. The audio detail still remains very impressive. No distortion was detected. I have not attempted to clean the record....I'm guessing that a professional clean will probably make a difference. Please note: despite the above mentioned flaws, this is NOT a completely trashed copy. One can and should view this as a "filler" copy... or one that will allow the discerning audiophile whether he/she wants to spend an additional $200 ~ $500 for a NM or Sealed copy.
