Description
MICHAEL CHAPMAN - Fully qualified survivor - UK Harvest LP 1970 A/B
Time to sell more of my vinyl collection - some classical, some jazz, some pop, rock, folk & psych. I know it won't be appreciated by my daughter or the next generation, so I'm shifting it myself and hope I find good homes for it. Initially I am just picking at random from duplicates, stuff I have on CD and items unplayed for ages so there should be a decent mix. You never know, there might just be something to suit your taste.
This listing is for a UK first pressing of Michael Chapman's second album
Michael Chapman -
Fully qualified survivor
UK Harvest green label / no EMI logo
1970
Cat Number: SHVL T04 with dead wax A-1U / B-1U and very early mothers/stampers 1R/1A
Mode: Stereo
The Album:
Great second album from the still-going-strong Michael Chapman.
Condition:
Cover: Gatefold externally-laminated sleeve is in very nice condition. It has some laminate creasing and just a touch of rubbing to the corners. Strong and intact it has a fully legible spine. A set of initials written on inner, otherwise no tears, stickers or writing.
Labels: First press Harvest light green labels bright and clean. A few spindle marks, nothing excessive. No writing or stickers.
Vinyl: Decent looking vinyl. A few light hairline scratches but no really nasty marks. It plays generally fine with just a touch of crackling in quiet patches, no major interference.
Overall:
A nice sleeve housing a decent copy of this album which plays well - I'd guess that this might be professionally graded at (cover / vinyl) VG+ / VG+
Terms:
Please note that I try to test-play at least part of each record before listing, but do not have time to play fully in all cases. I played a lot of this one, but if you do discover a problem which I might have missed, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do all I can to rectify the situation.
Postage: Royal Mail are 'restructuring' prices from April 2013. Not necessarily all bad news, it depends what you buy - a single LP posted to UK or Europe is now more expensive, but within UK revised weight ranges might allow up to 4 LPs to be posted for the same cost as one. Rest of world prices seem to have reduced slightly. Approximate prices for normal postage - UK £3.35 for up to 1kg (could be up to 4 LPs), Europe £5.30 + £1.80 each additional, Rest of world £7.55 + £2.70 each additional item - these amounts include estimated actual Royal Mail cost for first class or air mail, plus 35p for cost of packaging material (a brand new custom mailer with stiffener).
Losses: Royal Mail are also reducing maximum compensation to £20 unless items are signed-for. Overseas purchasers - if your purchase is well over £20, a signed for service must be selected when paying as I will not assume the extra risk and normal airmail will only be covered for £20. Compensation on signed-for shipments is up to £50.
I'm happy to hold records for a short while if you wish to bid on more and combine shipment.
These records are all from my personal collection built up over almost 50 years. Some were bought new, others pre-owned so condition will vary. My attempt at grading is based on Record Collector's grading system. Please therefore read and understand the detailed description which is my honest personal assessment - and I guess you can always check how good or bad that is by checking my feedback. Questions welcome if anything is unclear. Happy bidding.
