The Michael Garrick Septet, Black Marigolds
Original UK pressed Decca Argo Records stereo LP, ZDA 88.
Early pressing with grooved dark purple label with silver print and oval Argo logo at 12 o'clock. 2L/1L matrix suffixes.
Generally vinyl in EX plus condition. Just a very few light spider trail marks visible at centre spindle areas, and labels are bright undulled and undefaced. Surfaces still have a high gloss, and are mostly free of any marks save for a few of the most inconsequential of paper sleeve removal scuffs which are only visible when studying the surfaces with a magnifying glass. There is just one small mark which is slightly more visible. This is more a small closely grouped cluster of hairline scuffs which are not deep but penetrate just sufficently enough to cause a little noise. The mark is at the beginning of track two, side one, and is about a third of an inch in length. It does not cause continuous ticks throughout its length, but does cause some light crackle, and the occasional soft tick, with no more than three of these ticks being continuous. There is just one isolated slighly louder mid level tick towards the end of the mark. This is an isolated blemish on an otherwise very clean LP however. The surfaces are underlyingly very quiet and noise-free, and there are no other instances of crackle, ticks or clicks. In summary still provides a really excellent listening experience with the mentioned mark being just a very short lived and very minor distraction. Playback has been tested in entirety and not just sampled.
Inner sleeve is original and in generally excellent condition, although with some overall age toning.
External sleeve EX. Front panel very clean, bright and glossy. No sticker, pen or similar marks to either front or rear. Front panel has just a vague ringwear impression and a few tiny and minor pinch line creases leading in from spine areas. A negligible dot of a scrape to bottom centre of front panel, really unobtrusive. Rear panel has just a very light scattering of ringwear and handling darkening, but is overall still very presentable and without any marks of consequence. Edges and tips are clean and unworn, no fraying or seam splits. Entry side still acceptably crisp and not feathered.

A Note On Grading:Note that audio grading is subjective and based on sensitivity of equipment used for playback. In this instance playback has been tested on a vintage Technics Quartz Direct Drive SL1700 MKII turntable with Shure cartridge, Technics SU-C 03 amp and Technics SB-F2 Linear Phase speakers.
Also note that I generally do not clean vinyl unless so noted. Most vinyl will show improved playback quality with your preferred cleaning method, but I leave this to the prospective buyer, as controversy still surrounds the ideal method of cleaning vinyl.
