Description
The product is a first pressing vinyl record of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album from 1982. This particular copy has an error on the back cover and is missing the original co-produced by Michael Jackson. The record is in excellent condition, with a near mint inlay, and comes in a 12" cardboard sleeve. With a full-range fidelity level and stereo audio, this LP features the iconic singer's distinctive style blending Motown, Electro/Synth, Pop R&B, and Dance Pop. A must-have for any vinyl collector or fan of Michael Jackson's music.
QE 38112 that is on the jacket spine of the album is catalog number for original first US pressings.
For US first pressings, the back cover only list Quincy Jones as producer without Michael Jackson as co-producer credit. Later repressings added the Michael Jackson co-production credit.
The codes stamped on either side of the actual album are PBL 38112-1A and PBL 38112-1B (see listing photo):
What the codes mean:
• PBL = Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman, NJ (the “P” prefix indicates Pitman)
• 38112 = The catalog number for Thriller
• 1A / 1B = The lacquer/stamper generation — “1” is the lowest and earliest, first-generation lacquer pressing cut.
