Description

Artist: Michael Rabin / Dimitri Metropolis / New York Philharmonic / Wieniawski
Album Title: Violin Concerto No. 1
Label: CBS
Cover Condition:  N/A
Vinyl Condition:  VG+ / EX / VG- (Acetate 1 grades at VG+ with large superfical scuff that goes across side 1 that has minimal impact on play. Acetate 2 grades EX with only a few very light paper scuffs. Please note that this is an acetate and will not have a silent surface. Often acetates play worse than their visual grade and I would say this is the case here. I have given the acetate a play grade of VG-)
Description: Original 1951 acetate of Michael Rabin performing Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No. 1 and various pieces. Recorded December 16th, 1951 making this one of his earliest known performances. This is the only way to obtain this rare session as this recording has never been released in any other format.
To get a sense of the performance, I have uploaded a short soundclip from the record. Listen here:
Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No. 1

THIS IS AN ORIGINAL, NOT A REISSUE/REPRESS.
All photos and soundclips are taken from the actual record on auction! No editing or other tricks used.
