GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : musica e direzione orchestrale di Michel Legrand. Un album di estrema rarità contenente uno splendido capolavoro musicale. Un film drammatico risolto con grande personalità dal compositore Francese che, pur rispettando la trama "dark" del film, alleggerisce la sua carica di tensione angosciosa con atmosfere sonore ricche di un particolare fascino. Ottima la sua scelta di utilizzare per quasi tutti i brani vocalizzi femminili e maschili di sottofondo o in primo piano. Così come aver chiamato musicisti pieni di talento, anche se non sono accreditati nell'album, quali il violinista Stéphane Grappelli (nei brani 1a, 2a, 4a e 1b), il cantante Delaney Bramlett (canzone 3a) e sua sorella Christiane Legrand, splendida vocalista (brani 1a e 2a).

" Theme de la Piscine " : una sorta di suggestiva cantilena con vocalizzi femminili e maschili che s'incrociano accompagnati dal pianoforte e dal violino.

" Souvenirs " : atmosfera lieve, quasi impalpabile sottolineata da vocalizzi, violino e pianoforte un pò jazzeggiante

" Run, Rabbit, Run " : canzone con belle vene rhythm & blues dall'andamento veloce, interpretata in Inglese da Delaney Bramlett.

" Theme Henri " : atmosfera lenta che suggerisce tensione con vocalizzi nella parte finale.

" Sequence Voiture " : ritmo incalzante e convulso con forte percussività e vocalizzi femminili.

" Blues " : in una suggestiva atmosfera lenta quasi un gospel cantato in Inglese dallo stesso Michel Legrand con un sottofondo di vocalizzi femminili.

" Ask Yourself Why " : canzone dal buon andamento sonoro interpretata in Inglese da Sally Stevens.

" Suspicion " : atmosfera fatata con un buon pianoforte ed un sottofondo di vocalizzi femminili.

" Fugue " : atmosfera solenne, mistica con vocalizzi maschili e femminili.

Notes : music and orchestra Michel Legrand. A very scarce album featuring a great masterpiece. A dramatic movie resolved by the huge personality of the French composer who, even tough respecting the "dark" film plot, eases its distressing tension with evocative atmospheres from the special charm. To underline his excellent idea for the use in almost all the tracks of male and female vocalisms in the background or foreground as well as the participation of well-gifted musicians, although uncredited on the album, such as Stéphane Grappelli, violin (tracks 1a, 2a, 4a and 1b), the singer Delaney Bramlett (track 3a) and Christiane Legrand, magnificent vocalist and composer's sister (tracks 1a and 2a).

" Theme de la Piscine " : a sort of charming lullaby with crisscrossing male and female vocalisms accompanied by piano and violin. 

" Souvenirs " : from the slight, almost imperceptible atmosphere underlined by vocalisms, violin and piano with a bit of jazzy flavors.

" Run, Rabbit, Run " : song with exciting rhythm & blues veins and from hectic pace, performed in English by Delaney Bramlett.

" Theme Henri " : slow atmospheres whic evoke tension with vocalisms in the last part.

" Sequence Voiture " : lively and frantic rhythm with strong percussiveness and female vocalisms.

" Blues " : in a charming slow atmosphere a sort of gospel sung in English by the same Michel Legrand with female vocalisms in the background. 

" Ask Yourself Why " : song from the fast development performed in English by Sally Stevens.

" Suspicion " : enchanted atmosphere led by an excellent  piano with female vocalisms in the background.

" Fugue " : solemn and mystical theme with male and female vocalisms.
