MICHEL POLNAREFF

“MICHEL POLNAREFF”

MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Producciones FERMATA Records (FERMATA Records) very first MONO PROMO press released in Chile in 1967 by Producciones Fermata Records, made by RCA Records and distributed by Corporación De Radio De Chile S.A. (CRC Records), licensed from AZ Records, France, catalog number LF-113-X, with hand etched matrix numbers LF-113-A AA in Side 1 and LF-113-B AA in Side 2, with traditional white/black/red Fermata labels. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!!

“MICHEL POLNAREFF” was originally released in 1966 in France and we had to wait until 1967 to see this great debut album released here in Chile, but like usual of the period we got it with UNIQUE COVER!!! Cover is non-gatefold, made of an only piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle, so 3 sides are open, with 2 sheets of paper for front and back covers, attached to the cardboard (only partially glued in the mouth edge) and kept together for a plastic bag. Front cover keeps strictly the original French artwork with the only difference that in Chile it has the FERMATA Records logo at top right corner and the tracklist written in Spanish with red lettering at bottom right corner. Back cover is different, it has a brief review about Michel Polnareff and the record with the tracklist written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters and rights society of songs of each side. In labels the tracklist is written in Spanish only with full credits for songwriters and additional information about rights society and licenses. A curious thing to notice and maybe an error, in both back cover and label, the only song title not translated to Spanish is “Ballade Pour Un Puceau”!!! And as you can see in the pictures, both back cover and label (Side 2) have the squared silver Promotional stamp “MUESTRA SIN VALOR COMERCIAL” (Sample Without Commercial Value)!!! WOW!!! ANOTHER GREAT FIND from Chile, a great album with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE BACK COVER ARTWORK, Spanish-written song titles and PROMO STAMPED!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of French Pop/Rock music of the sixties and especially for all fans, lovers and collectors of Michel Polnareff!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in VG or VG+ condition both the front and back covers, clear and clean, with some wear in the edges and corners, more evident of course in the mouth edge, with evident age browning in back cover, some little rips, creases and a big stamp of a radio station which owned this record. The record is in VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with loads and loads and loads of scuffs, soft hairlines and light scratches, which don’t affect play. Labels on both sides are in EX- or EX condition both sides, clean and clear with minimal spindle wear and evident age browning, with a big stamp in both sides of a radio station which owned this record. The sound is in great VG or even VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, but with a soft background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant light crackles, more evident in the silent parts between songs, and some soft occasional clicks here and there, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a MEGARARE Chilean record, for sure not for Minty or audiophile minds, but with still a nice glossy look, clean and fully readable labels and a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 56 years!!! And keep in mind this record has a UNIQUE COVER, Spanish-written song titles, UNIQUE BACK COVER ARTWORK and it’s PROMOTIONAL!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
