THE BEST OILS POSTER EVER!
This is an incredible find for fans of the AUSSIE ROCK LEGENDS MIDNIGHT OIL.
MIDNIGHT OIL, formed in the late 1970s and came to fame through their uncompromising, no nonsense, powerhouse rock and roll with great songs and a social conceience. They were without doubt one of the most incredible live bands in music history. Now Minister for the Environment, Heritage and The Arts, former lead singer Peter Garrett remains one of the most electrifying front men ever.
In 1982 when the bands classic 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 album was such a massive smash, RCA produced this absolutely INCREDIBLE poster to promote the bands back catalogue to people who had just discovered them through 10-1. Featuring a stylized collage of images from Head Injuries and Bird Noises with 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 down the left side, it has the first three releases pictured at the bottom with catalogue numbers and sell prices.
Across the bottom it reads The first three recordings by MIDNIGHT OIL Available now on RCA records and Tapes.
THIS POSTER IS A MASSIVE 148cm X 98cm IS PRINTED ON HEAVY STOCK PAPER AND IS EXCELLENT CONDITION.
The actual magnatude of how flippin' brilliant this poster is, can't be fully captured by the photo, just because it's so damn big. But personally I believe this is THE BEST OILS POSTER EVER.
It has been in storage for an incredible TWO AND A HALF DECADES!
These MIDNIGHT OIL 1-9-8 BACK CATALOGUE POSTERS were NEVER AVAILABLE TO BUY. They were used only to promote the bands back catalogue in a brief campaign TWENTY SIX YEARS AGO. They were given to record stores and radio stations, but never commercially released, which made them extremely hard to get in 1982 and as rare as hens teeth in 2008.
It is in EXCELLENT condition, there is some minor storage wear on the top left corner (see image) from being stored for so long, but nothing major and certainly othing that detracts from the striking nature of this very rare OILS poster.
Those measurements again - a huge 148cm X 98cm.
